The Tax Senior Accountant reports to the Director of Tax & Operational Accounting and will support the domestic and international tax compliance and strategy for Spanx, Inc. and affiliates.  This position will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to problem-solve and research the tax effects of various business decisions and new initiatives.


  • Oversee all domestic and international compliance and reporting requirements for S-Corporation
  • Support external accounting firm with preparation of Form 1120S, estimated tax payments, state tax returns and property tax returns
  • Identify and calculate book to tax adjustments
  • Manage filing of monthly US sales tax, Europe VAT, and Canada GST returns
  • Prepare state and local tax registrations, annual business license renewals, and SOS filings
  • Manage fixed assets ledger for GAAP and tax books – including additions, disposals, bonus depreciation and Sec. 179
  • Respond to tax notices from various federal and state agencies
  • Support tax audits as needed
  • Perform tax research to review after-tax cash flows and support Company decision making process
  • Assist with tax strategy to support domestic and international expansion


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA eligible
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate
  • Federal income tax compliance experience with S Corporations or flow-through entities
  • State income tax experience with non-resident withholding and composite returns
  • Exposure to international tax issues preferred
  • Experience with fixed asset software and MACRS depreciation
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong tax research and analytical skills
