Reports to: Senior Manager, Production

Responsibilities

Inventory Planning

  • Create monthly order recommendation based off sales forecast provided by Demand Planning
  • Balance order recommendations with manufacturers minimums, current inventory stock levels by warehouse, and MOS goals
  • Analyze category forecast at a sku level and partner with Demand Planning to identify risks and opportunities to the forecast; provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks
    • Determine inventory chase opportunities to maximize increases in forecast; partner with Production to execute at the manufacturer level
    • Identify needs to cancel/shift out production orders units based on sales forecast fluctuations
  • Translate seasonal post-Market sales orders into seasonal inventory buy
    • Build seasonal inventory strategy that aligns with merchandising strategy, production/manufacturer considerations, and sales initiatives
    • Manage seasonal commit working sessions
  • Partner with Production Managers to maximize production flow and capacity forecasts for manufacturing partners
  • Work with Demand Planning and Sales teams to understand sales initiatives and anticipated inventory needs
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and recommendations on inventory-related questions to cross-functional partners
  • Own Monthly Inventory Meeting with COO, CFO, Senior Director Production, Demand Planning Director, and Finance.
    • Prepare OTBs to monitor DOH metric
    • Utilize monthly meeting to gain approval for monthly order recs as well as changes in MOS strategy

 

Inventory Management

  • Approve inventory transfer requests to balance inventory between Spanx warehouses
  • Work with Production team to develop read & react strategies including material/fabric positioning and chase production leadtimes
  • Partner with Sales and Operations teams to maximize the allocation/order fulfillment process

 

Production Order Management

  • Review POs for accuracy and approve POs written by Coordinator

 

Team Management

  • Manage 1 Associate and 1 Coordinator

Own developing direct reports through coaching, goal setting, and providing necessary training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, production planning, or merchandise planning
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient in MS Office; advanced skills in Excel
  • Ability to leverage relationships across departments
  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
